Open Areas: The resort is almost entirely open, with all lifts operating except Kandahar.
Happy new year! Last night many saw the new year in with night skiing on the Nagasaka until 11pm, followed by a countdown and fireworks. The Nagasaka slope got fluffier as the night went on, as snow fell steadily throughout the evening. The resort is reporting 25cm of new snow and there was about 10cm in the village, so anyone who got up there early this morning would have been treated.
There is more snow in the forecast. The last we spell of snow has been great, we need a few more dumps like last night to completely open the bottom half of the mountain and to cover some more bush up in the trees on yamabiko.
