Your own personal hot spring

Rotenburo rooms at the Grand Hotel are recently renovated rooms that come with private hot springs. Step straight from your shower onto the balcony and take a soak in your own tub, cold beverage in hand, while you watch the snow fall as skiers and boarders make their way down the mountain at the end of the day. What could be better?

Top accommodation in a great spot

Nozawa Onsen Grand Hotel is undoubtedly some of the best accommodation in Nozawa. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and many have been recently renovated. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the Shinyu Pair lift and just down the road to the centre of the village. Buses from Togari Nozawa Station and Nagano Station terminate at Nozawa Onsen Grand Hotel, so getting there couldn’t be easier.

Getting there and away

All roads lead to the Grand Hotel – whether you take a direct bus from Nagano Station or local train and bus from Togari Nozawa Onsen, the bus will take you to right outside the Grand Hotel.

Getting to the slopes

The nearest lift is the Shinyu Pair Lift which is a single seater access lift around 150m from the lodge which takes you up close to the Hikage area.

Going out for dinner

From the Grand Hotel it is a short walk down the hill to the center of town. Nearby restaurants include Atarashiya, a yakitori and eel restaurant right next door which you have to try (only open for lunch), Akebitei – okonomiyaki, Japanese style pancakes, and Robota – a great teishoku and noodle joint.

Taking an onsen

If you really need to leave the wonderful baths at the Grand Hotel you can head to Shinyu which is just down the road. Might be worth slumming it once to find out how the commoners bathe and really appreciate the beautiful baths in the hotel.
