Customer Feedback
The lodge rocked. It was only a short walk from the chairs, there was an enormous bath in the shower room, and the beds were soft and warm. Andy was really helpful, he booked our taxi from Narita to Nozawa as well as made all our stay arrangements (and answered a million of our questions and showed us where the pow was). So good.

Thanks again so much for all your help in making our stay in Nozawa Onsen so fantastic. Being able to check things out with you in English was a great help, and we appreciated all your support and tips along the way – help with getting there and flexibility re payment, help with the ski hire and day passes, help with our trip to the monkeys, recommendations for nice places to eat (especially the yummy Yakatori place and warmth of its owners) and help with accessing the internet. We will definitely recommend Resort Inn Tuemo to others!

I was extremely impressed with Resort Inn Toemu. I made a last minute booking over New Years and asked for a dormitory bed since I was travelling by myself. They told me that there were no dormitory beds available for the dates I wanted but that I could have a Japanese style tatami room all to myself for a generously discounted price. I accepted their offer and I really enjoyed my stay there. Resort Inn Toemu was run by a friendly kiwi guy called Andy, he made sure all the guests felt comfortable and even took me up the mountain snowboarding to show me his favourite runs. The Inn has a lovely relaxing onsen free for the guests to use, and its a short walk to all the restaurants, bars and more free public onsens. Although I was on holiday alone in Nozawa Onsen I never went snowboarding, eating, drinking or onsen-ing alone, the other guests were so friendly and someone always invited me to join their group. I give Resort Inn Toemu 10/10!

we loved our room with a view, comfy mattresses and ensuite at Toemu. But it is people that make a place great. Toemu has a welcoming, warm and friendly atmosphere thanks to both of you (& Erin & staff). Your generosity in picking us up from the station and driving us over to the Grand was much appreciated. Every day we saw you working long hours and doing everything possible to give us and all your guests the best possible snow holiday experience in Nozawa. Your local knowledge of the village and the mountain make all the difference.Really enjoyed it when you organised dinner out at Masazo for us and other guests too . Masaemon was fun too, not to mention your hospitality with the sake after the fire festival.

Lovely room, lovely food and wonderful staff & fellow guests. Very comfortable and felt at home. Especially loved the big bath and the bathroom with a view.

This was our second visit to Toemu and like our first visit we felt so welcome. Nozawa Onsen has become one of our favourite little ski towns. I love the little touches at Toemu… like free apples, mamma’s breakfasts and the onsen. The new wifi in the foyer was handy although as a result we didn’t sit around fire as much! looking forward to next time!

Andy was very friendly and accomodating to our request and we had a nice time exploring the village. However, we felt that the rooms can be improved, at least with thicker curtains to block out the sunlight if we wish to sleep in a bit later. Its too bright and we had to wake up really early. The rooms could do with nicer bedsheets and towels too. TV was too small and the toilet heater was inconsistent. But the cosiness of the place and the friendly people made up for the negative things we felt.

A very pleasant stay. Andy and Yuka went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. Plenty of space to relax. Our special dietary needs were well considered. We’ll be back!

Great accommodation! We enjoyed visiting with other guests during our stay and it was nice to have the daily breakfast. THe location was great and we loved the Nozowa Onsen community!

My third time to Nozawa Onsen and Resort Inn Toemu is my new favourite accommodation in Nozawa! The in-house onsen was better than many of the free onsens around town. Andy San was a great help always friendly and happy to help with advice on the best runs on the mountain and the best bars and restaurants around town.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Andy, Kiwi ‘helper’ to the Japanese hosts. Fantastic person, perfect for the role to make the contact with local people and stuff to do more accessible for non japanese speakers.
Absolutley wonderful place to go.

We loved our accommodation. Tim was in charge and he was excellent company and went out of his way to help us. We loved the baths as well. The town was gorgeous and the food was wonderful. We would return in a flash. We has a tatami room upstairs which was comfortable with a nice alcove and a good view.

This was fantastic accomodation. It was exactly what I had hoped for, with perfect Japanese style rooms. It was the first time I used tatami mats, futons, and slept on the floor! The heating was good, and it was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was good, and I enjoyed the fire that was burning at night. The location of the inn was ideal and so quiet, and very good value for money. I look forward to my next visit.
